Treatment Options For Low Testosterone Levels

We offer testosterone medication in the form of a injections, gel or oral tablets. Each individual is different so the medical team at Urban TRT is here to advise you on the right prescription for you, but please read on to find out more about the treatment options available.

Injectable Testosterone Treatments
Testosterone injections are our most popular method for administering TRT. Your doctor will discuss the pros and cons of choosing injections with you, but in summary:
Advantages: Less frequent administration is required than with other methods, and they can result in higher and more stable levels testosterone in the body. Injections lead to greater muscle and bone benefits.
Disadvantages: Pain at the injection site can be an issue for some individuals. All injections have associated risks, which you should discuss with your doctor. Full training on safe administration will be provided.
Administration: Self -administered injections, 1 -2 times per week.
Results: Dependent on the individual, and starting testosterone levels, an improvement in many of your symptoms should be apparent after 3-6 weeks. Some symptoms may take up to 6 months to resolve. Injections generally provide the quickest results compared to the other treatment methods.
Monthly Cost: From £99 to £189 per month.


Topical Testosterone Treatments
If you would prefer to avoid needles for your TRT, topical treatments are the way to go. They include gels, creams and patches, where the testosterone is absorbed through your skin. Your doctor will discuss the full advantages and disadvantages of this treatment but here's a quick summary.
Advantages: Quick and easy to administer at home. Dosage is easy to adjust. Treatment releases testosterone steadily through the day.
Disadvantages: Skin irritation can occur in some patients. You will need to take steps to avoid the treatment transferring to others, and it can be messy to apply.
Administration: Apply the prescribed amount daily in a thin layer to clean skin on the arms, backs of knees or thighs.
Results: Depending on the individual and starting testosterone levels, reduction in symptoms can occur from 3 - 6 weeks after starting treatment, but may take longer.
Monthly Cost: From £105 to £159
TRT Oral Treatments
Testosterone is now available in tablet form. Although there are advantages to this method of administration, there are side effects and risks to be considered. Here is a summary, but consult your Urban TRT doctor for more information.
Advantages: The simplest method of administration.
Disadvantages: The most expensive approach to TRT. Tablets must be taken with food. May not be as effective as other methods.
Administration: Twice daily with food (but refer to your prescription and packet instructions)
Results: Dependent on the individual and starting testosterone levels, results typically take longer with this form of TRT than others.
