Medical Research Into The Effectiveness of HCG Treatment
Recent medical research has explored the combined use of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) with Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) to address potential side effects associated with TRT alone.
Research into the effectiveness of hCG and fertility was conducted in 2015 and concluded that combination therapy with hCG and supplemental medications was effective in treating men with testosterone-related infertility.
A 2013 study, published in the Journal of Urology also concluded that low-dose hCG injections helped to prevent a reduction in sperm count as a result of TRT. Of the 26 men treated with TRT combined with hCG, nine were able to make their partners pregnant. The study proved that hCG injections helped to prevent sperm reduction and preserve the fertility of the men treated.
A 2005 study conducted at the University of Washington School of Medicine also examined the effects of hCG on the intra-testicular testosterone (ITT), which is a more accurate measure of male fertility. It proved that even a small amount of hCG is enough to counteract the negative effects of TRT, promoting a healthy sperm count, motility, and viability.
Does HCG Affect Everyone on TRT the Same Way?
HCG can help many men on TRT maintain testicular size and stimulate natural testosterone production. It's important to note though that its effects can vary depending on the cause of low testosterone.
Men with primary hypogonadism (impaired testosterone production due to testicular dysfunction) generally have a limited response to HCG. In contrast, those with secondary hypogonadism (low LH and FSH production from the pituitary gland) often respond more effectively to HCG stimulation.
